Please Note: With the release of Ultimate Car products with version 3.2 or higher it is necessary for all products involved to be version 3.2 or higher also because of changed data formats. This means that Ultimate Car for Pocket
PC version 3.2.0 will NOT work properly with Ultimate Car Desktop for Windows version 3.1.0.0 and vice versa.
Overview
Ultimate Car is software that logs and tracks vehicle (car, truck, motorcycle, etc.) repair, fuel and maintenance (oil change, tune-up, brakes, etc.) events that runs on computers running Windows operating systems and PDAs running the Pocket PC operating system. It consists of
two separate products: 1) Ultimate Car Desktop for Windows
and 2) Ultimate Car for Pocket PC. The Windows version can be used separately and the PDA version can be used separately or they can both be used together and synchronized via the provided ActiveSync Synchronization
utility. All versions record fuel, oil changes, tire repairs, maintenance events and more for an unlimited number of vehicles. Fuel economy, last service information, including last oil change, repair, battery, tire, etc., is available at a click or tap. Default suppliers for frequently used types allows quick entry. Last mileage entered is remembered for quick entry for the next time. Change viewing filter to only see items interested in, filter and report on date range and item types.

Features included in Desktop but not in PDA version:
- More information in a tabular format which makes it easier to locate specific information. PDA version is limited by screen size.
- Graphs for fuel economy and maintenance costs in addition to on-screen fuel economy format of PDA version.
- Shows reminders in the status bar when maintenance items are due or overdue. PDA version shows this information in a separate dialog.
- Print reports and also export those reports into common file formats (the PDA version
does not support reporting or exporting).
Configurations
Ultimate Car software can be used in a couple of configurations. The most popular is the desktop product Ultimate Car Desktop for Windows which has all functionality of the PDA version and also includes reporting and custom graphing of user defined items. A popular PDA product is Ultimate Car for Pocket PC which runs on the Windows Mobile platform. The desktop product comes with an ActiveSync Synchronization utility to keep the PDA data in sync.
