This is because the Palm PDA product (Ultimate Car for Palm) is no longer supported. The utility allows migration to other supported formats and is called PalmConverter. Added the ability to not use PDA data, and force to use only Desktop data. This new feature turns off any PDA options (Pocket PC User or Palm User) and can be helpful when a PDA is associated with the computer but it is not desired to have Ultimate Car interact with that PDA. This can be turned on only via a configuration file setting, i.e., "desktopOnly" should be set to 1 in the Nlpc.UltimateCar.exe.config file. By default this setting is 0. The data location has been moved to a folder underneath the current user instead of underneath the application folder. This allows for better backup strategies. Values were not being read from and saved to the registry properly and caused initial startup problems in some scenarios. NEW FEATURES ============ There is a new graph to complement the Fuel Economy graph called Cost. It can consolidate totals by month or itemize each entry, like the Fuel Economy graph. It is very flexible and can be used to quickly report such things as, how much did fuel cost me last month or the month before, or how much have oil changes cost me over the past year, etc. The vehicle license plate is now editable. Service intervals can be modified now. The Oil Change, Maintenance, Tune-Up and Brakes all have miles/months criteria so the next reminder may be scheduled. These values may now be changed so that each vehicle may have a different schedule. The graph(s) now have a way to ignore values that fall outside a specified range. This comes in handy when fuel entries are not entered and the graph "spikes". This new feature allows those spikes to be ignored and a more accurate average can be displayed. The Fuel Economy information may now be printed as a report. Previously only a WYSIWYG "report" could be printed out from the form. When entering a new detail item, the last three digits of the mileage are now selected like the Palm version. This makes entry of items even faster because no digits need to be removed first before entering the new mileage. It sports an updated look and includes a fuel economy graph and information about upcoming and overdue service items in the status bar. This version also works with data from Pocket PC PDAs (there is currently no conduit or ActiveSync provider available). The reporting engine is all different but the reports are still the same. The Windows Desktop is now considered a separate product with separate registration codes to enter. A time trial is offered for free to try it out.
